4to ca. 9" x 11.5 " pp. 46+ bound in original faux leather folder (may be early plastic) in very good or better condition- Contents near fine condition. This appears to be a thesis work. There are 46 numbered pages- on one side only- plus folded map at back and some supplemental documents. The handwriting is very clear and legible and there are dozens of very well done drawings of many native American symbols ( at least the author says this is what they are- and the style looks right. Many of the drawing are in color and most illustrate symbols that would appear on clothing. At the back of the book there is an envelope which contains 5 items, 2 are drawing of other motiffs- some identified as Costa Rican and others Hungarian, another is a 6 page price list and description of items for sale from the Denver Art Museum Department of Indian Art dated June 20 , 1949. Another item is the Show Catalogue for the 1940 Golden Gate International Exposition in San Francisco on Aboriginal Cultures of the Western Hemisphere. Lastly, there is a Spring 1950 issue of the Denver Museum Quarterly which has several illustrations of Native American art and symbols. The work, itself, is undated- probably between 1945 -1949 Overall, a very good to near fine, though age toned, collection of Native American Symbols.
