First Edition (first printing). 8vo. 209pp. Blue cloth lettered and bordered in gold at the spine. A little light spotting to the endpapers, and the binding cracked and quite tender at the rear hinge. A fair copy, but really very crisp internally, in non-price-clipped dust wrapper, toned at the spine panel with several tiny nicks to the top edge. Fifteen essays including his fourteen-page analysis 'The Poetry of John Betjeman', plus pieces on Jane Austen, Oscar Wilde, A.E.Housman and J.M.Barrie. Seller Inventory # GAM128
