Hardback. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 288 pages; 8 p. index; illustrated with 135 Fig.s (photos, graphs, charts, line drawings), plus a number of Tables; from the dj: "Useful, factual and based on up-to-date industrial research practice, this new book covers the many problems involved in the hardness testing of metals and other materials. It describes the instruments in most common use.as well as those used for specialized types of hardness tests. The author evaluates the advantages and disadvantages of each and gives complete specifications." Book condition: A sprinkling of foxing appears on the book edges, and some minor rubbing shows on the cover corners and spine ends; Dj spine is darkened somewhat, circa 0.5 sq.in. of the lower front panel is missing, and there is additional wear and tear, concentrated mainly on or around the dj spine ends. Owner's name, in ink, is written on the front fly.
