(1400-1500) printed books in the collection of Henry Walters, 1st ed, 4to; vii, 522 pp; with over 100 illustrations printed in b&w (many are full page but most are illustrated with in the text); a full-page colored frontispiece (Plinius, Venetiis, Jenson, 1472) showing illuminations to the page, including: addenda, indexes, bibliography, errata+colophon leaf. Initial letters, head-pieces, etc. are printed in red; illustrated with various-sized reproductions of early typography and woodcuts, printed on a watermarked paper (watermarked: E M); preface by Henry Walters; hand-executed covers for book; bound in full calf by C. Tartagli & Fo. of Florence with his gilt ticket on rear pastedown; the full brown calf has 3 raised bands and extend to front & back covers: book size: 7-1/2 in. x 10-1/8 in. x 1-1/2 in.; boards and spine have rubbing and tiny tears to edges, spine has tears, rough and has been repaired at joints; rubbing and some marks to the endpapers; book is tight; interior and illustrations in almost VERY GOOD COND.
