Full calf, G+. xliv+984pp [A]2 B-12D2 ] ( LACKING pp 985 - 1008 although these pages seem never to have been bound in, the final leaf 12K should be 'Some further considerations on Jesus's temptation in the wilderness', but here the book ends with Goadby's final notes on Revelations 22:12 ). engraved frontis, 2 engraved maps ( Holy Land & Travels of the Apostles ), 1 folding plate & 60 engraved plates, upper hinge cracked but holding, general wear & staining to the text, but never overly heavy and only just encroaching onto the image of some of the plates, occasional grubbiness, a solid copy, notwithstanding the upper hinge. The Old Testament title page carried a note to say that they were a 'Sixth edition', but no mention is made of earlier editions - the Old Testament was published in parts from 1754 onwards. In 1759 the New Testament was issued separately with its own title, and seems somewhat scarcer than the Old Testament volumes. Robert Goadby [ 1721 - 1778 ] printer.
