The present work gives the biographies, and occasionally brief bibliographical data, as well as the finely engraved portraits of the professors who lectured at the Leiden Academy during its first 35 years or so. 24 portraits, and 2 others -Hadrianus Junius; Justus Lipsius; Ee-mbertus Dodonaeus; Franciscus Juniius; Joseph Scaliger; Petrus Molinaeus; Joaunes Meursins; Sugo Grotius; Pctrus Scriverius, etc. 8.5" x 6.75". Contemporary full vellum ruled in blind. First leaf of Hugo Grotius biography is supplied in contemporary penned facsimile.
