L. Wing. "Anyone who uses it for any length of time will discover that it has a distinct personality. It could be that it takes on the personality of the user, although it frequently assumes a startling and unpredictable posture. At times it likes to carry on a witty and multifaceted conversation; and at other times it petulantly dwells on a particular issue or problem. You may find it a willful book~neither to be put off nor to be used aimlessly. As your relationship with the I Ching becomes more familiar, it may embarrass you or frighten you, and will occasionally share a good laugh with you." The Illustrated I Ching brings to its readers the first American translation of the major text of the I Ching. R. L. Wing, who executed this timely and lucid translation, is the author of the very popular companion volume, The I Ching Workbook. Beyond its enlightening translation, The Illustrated I Ching offers a unique and important insight into the ancient classic. Exploring such concepts as leftbrain~rightbrain perceptions, The Illustrated I Ching uses Chinese artwork to enhance the understanding of the mysterious text. Each of the sixty~four hexagrams, representing sixty~four varieties of human experience, is illuminated by an exceptional Chinese painting. These paintings, expressively suggest the mood or impact of the situation that each hexagram represents. In The Illustrated I Ching, R. L. Wing has provided readers with an easily accessible tool for profound understanding of the principles behind the world's most ancient book.…
