Item description from seller

Folio, original red cloth stamped in gilt and black, a little worn at extremities, the cloth somewhat age soiled, 224pp., with a few inserted leaves, and with a striking chromolithograph plate showing "PROGRESS," the remarkable historical and complex vase exhibited at the Centennial Exposition. And more, including hundreds of generously sized electrotype images of wares catering to an emergent American middle class of consumers - pickle casters, holders, utensils, tea sets, urns, trays, waiters, and other such fashionable products of the era. This copy bears a broad ink ownership inscription signature, dated February 14, 1878, from Cyrus Nelson Gibbs (1846-1922), the notable jeweler and watchmaker and retailer, active circa 1865-1881, with stores in Framingham and Ashland, Massachusetts. McKINSTRY #1675. ROMAINE, page 342. A Good+ copy.
