Stapled booklet in blue wrappers with gilt letters on the front cover and with a vignette in gilt of an oldtime fiddler. Just a few dings around the edges, cover slightly soiled, some small splatter stains near the bottom of the front cover, corners square and flat, gilt slightly dulled, no rust on the staples, all photos in fine condition, else very good to near fine with no internal markings. The Idaho Old Time Fiddlers' Association was formed in 1960 as part of the celebration of Idaho's Territorial Centennial Year 1963. Governor Robert E Smylie appointed Mannie Shaw, of Corral, Idaho, as chairman to organize the Old Time Fiddlers of Idaho and to get them ready for Centennial functions as needed. The organization started with a small number of fiddlers and, by the time of the publication of this booklet, Idaho Fiddlers' Organization had grown to 254 total membership of active fiddlers and accompanists. Of this number, 149 were fiddlers ? the rest were the ever important accompanists playing guitars, pianos, base fiddles, mandolins, banjos, accordions ? one played a musical saw ? another a washboard! It was probably the largest organization of its kind in the world. [From the front matter] The booklet is comprised of multi-paragraph biographies of the various musicians together with a black and white photo of each one. An important document of Idaho musical history.
