Description: An illustrated study of the human face by British novelist and essayist John Brophy, examining facial appearance, expression, character, and the cultural significance of the face. Published by Prentice-Hall in 1946 and illustrated throughout. This copy retains its original dust jacket, which is increasingly uncommon for mid-century nonfiction of this type. Detailed Condition: Good hardcover in Good dust jacket. Book appears structurally sound with age toning to pages. Previous owner's Christmas gift inscription dated 1949 on front free endpaper. Dust jacket shows moderate shelf wear, rubbing, creasing, small chips and tears, particularly along the upper edge and spine ends. Jacket has been protected in a clear removable cover. Interior appears generally clean aside from the ownership inscription. Please review photographs for condition. Shipping / Returns: Books are carefully packed in sturdy boxes and shipped with tracking. PSYCH 4a.
