First edition, first printings. Published by Hutchinson, London, from 1988-90. The first title, 'Spy Hook', is in near fine condition. The dust wrapper, with fine pictorial illustrations, is bright but with mild handling marks and slight wear at the corners. It has not been price clipped and shows the original £11.95 net price. The boards are free from chips and marks and the text blocks are bright and white. There are no previous owners inscriptions present. The second title, 'Spy Line', is bright and clean. The dust wrapper has not been price clipped and shows the original £11.95 net price. The boards are free from chips and marks and the text blocks are bright and white throughout. It is free from previous owners ink. The third and final title, 'Spy Sinker', is in very good (or better) condition. The dust wrapper is nicely illustrated but has one small tear and bump to the bottom left-hand corner. It has not been price clipped and shows the original £13.99 net price. The internals are clean throughout, aside from a slight smudging on the front fly leaf. The text blocks are bright, white and clean. Overall, this is a very good (or better) copy. The death of a colleague in America sets Bernie off on a trail to uncover vas sums of money which have vanished - and may be connected with his wife's defection. The tortured tails leads to and from, from his beloved Berlin to the South of France where we meet some of the last surviving characters from Winter. Finally Bernie learns that he is to be officially investigated as a traitor, and the book ends on a tantalising question mar.
