Two volumes. Three-quarter morocco and red cloth. Large quarto. 770 & 768pp. Illustrated. A complete run of this "monthly" magazine edited and published by New Haven clergyman and historian, Elijah C. Baldwin. The first issue, Vol. 1 No. 1, is dated October, 1880 and the last, Vol. II No. 12 is dated simply 1888. Each issue averages 64 pages in length and includes poetry, fiction, household advice, articles on Connecticut towns and history, world news, music, and much more. The issues contain many engraved illustrations of domestic life, women and children, pastoral scenes. There are also many views of Connecticut towns and landmarks, and other places in the U.S. and world. A very good set in handsome leather bindings which are very secure. There is some light spotting to the cloth and a few small chips to the spines of both volumes. Internally the text is very good with some light foxing to a few of the margins. The pages are in excellent condition with no chips or tears. Scarce. Foreign postage extra on this very heavy set. Seller Inventory # 7735
