No date circa 1857, 26.5 cm x 23 cm, ii - ix - 608 pp, tinted frontis + vignette 1/2 title, and 44 plates including coloured and tinted lithograph's 8 of which are folding + steel engravings and 3 maps plans. Some spotting to the end papers frontis and 1/2 title and occasionally to the steel engraved plates, the contents clean and tight with no inscriptions. Bound in contemporary 1/2 black calf, spine in 6 compartments with ornate gilt tooling cloth covered boards. Light rubbing to edges and part fading to the cloth, The binding clean and tight with no split?s chips or stains. A very good copy, the double page plates show the town and harbour of Odessa, Cronstadt, Sebastopol, Balaklava etc also there is a double page plate of Florence Nightingale at the Hospital at Scutari.
