Book is very solid, and binding does not appear to be original; may be a "library binding" as it seems to be newer and end papers are white and new looking, while block is more pulpy and browning. Gilt lettering on spine of red/rust colored boards. Block is solid and tight, with some foxing throughout. Illustrated with photo engravings and fold out illustrations are all accounted for and in good cndition - no big tears or tape. 516 pages, no advertising at back. Scarce, interesting book.
