First edition. A very good recent half calf binding. 8vo. 8.75" x 5.75" x 1.5". [18pp.]/ pp.504/4pp - Adverts , with engraved frontis and title-page, plus a further 19 illustrations as called-for. Polished brown leather spine and corners over marbled boards in very good condition. Spine with 5 raised bands, gilt titles and publication date. Later endpapers (handmade paper). Modern bookplate to front free-endpaper: "Ex Libris John R. Lambert". Also, early ownership signature: "Edward William Piper, Oct. 9. 1880 ." Light foxing and off-setting to the illustrations, otherwise cleat text on lightly toned paper. A well preserved copy. Seller Inventory # 49585
