Holmes), and a double-page folding map, sized 9 x 12 inches, map discretely reinforced along fold with archival tape, blue buckram with gilt spine titles (thus not the original binding), and a section from the front cover of the original binding neatly trimmed and attached at front board, gilt name stamped at lower edge, with matching ink signature at front fly, Mr. J. N. Wellman, Masonville, KY, moderate general wear and soiling, occasional scratches, mostly at rear cover, first several pages worn along front edge, including tiny closed tears, and title-page has a small chip missing at bottom edge, neither affecting text. Please note: the portrait of Lucius P. Little is listed at page 32, however, it appears at page 474. Overall a very sound copy of the very scarce original edition.
