First edition in 5 volumes. Measuring approximately 8.25" x 5.5" with 1743 numbered pages collectively. These volumes are in very good condition. Minor bumping to all ends of spine. Minor scuffing on all boards. Moderate staining on all edges of textblock. Previous owner's signature on four of the five volumes pastedowns. interior pages are clean and bright. . It was during his tenure at Princeton that he penned this five-volume history of the United States, and it reflects many of his ideas and biases he later brought to national politics.
