About this Item
First edition. Bound in the original publisher's dark tan cloth with gilt titles and vignette to front, gilt titling to spine. pp.(xvi+) 192 (+1) ; 21 pages of b/w plates. Overall VG. With rare 4pp insert of Some notes On Alton parish Church by Rev C.R. Stebbing Elvin. The boards are showing some light mottling, rubbing to spine, bumps to corners; some off-setting and neat contemporary ink name to endpapers, tanning to outer-page-edges. Contents are clean, binding is tight. In all, a very attractive example of this highly scarce and authoritative history of the English market town. 14807. Seller Inventory # 14807
