First edition. Hardcover. Original red-brown cloth, spine lettered in gilt (lacking the dustjacket). A very good copy with a few tiny professional repairs to nicks at the head of the spine. A thorough and well-footnoted commentary of the Greek historian, for students and readers with a good knowledge of Ancient Greek. As stated in the introduction by Gomme, a lecturer in Greek and Greek History at the University of Glasgow, this work was planned to be in three volumes (eventually with help from other authors, it was expanded/extended to 5 volumes). A clean and tight copy which has happily NOT been previously in a lending institution! This heavy book will cost more to send overseas, than any default postage rate noted.
