Thought to be first edition and printing. In quite good pictorial cloth with green, black and white image of mountains and green titles. The front board is loose from tail end, the spine ends bumped and frayed; the front is a little marked; the rear has a few small wrinkles in the cloth. Lightly foxed front free end papers; names of previous owners on front free end paper (some are crossed out), scribbles on front and rear paste downs. From the front free end papers the webbing from spine is visible. Tanned cut edges. The text block is "illustrated with 9 maps and with 21 airplane views and 110 other photographs". The pages are firm, straight and not tanned or foxed; marks on prelims. Good condition page block - overall condition is fair plus due to state of boards. Without jacket.

Our Bookshop is in Copse Road in Clevedon and is open every day, seven days a week, from 10.00am to 5.00pm. The Bookshop Co-operative comprises nearly 650 members from around the world and was set up to stop the only second-hand bookshop in our town from closing. The benefit of being a member/shareholder is only social: no-one benefits financially. All profits are used to improve the bookshop and its stock, and, through events, to contribute to the literacy and literary profile of our town.
