Wear on cover with bumping on corners and spine. Front end paper is loose, contains Christmas inscription dated 1916, hinges loose, especially in the front. Slight foxing and yellowing of pages; The Helen Beaton College Women is an enlightening and entertaining read that follows the lives of nine women over the course of fifty years. The women are diverse in their backgrounds and experiences, but they share one commonality: they all attended Helen Beaton College, a small liberal arts school in North Carolina. The book tells their stories in a chronological order, from the early days of their college careers through their marriages and children, their careers, and their later years. The author provides a wealth of information about the college and the women who attended it, as well as insights into their personal lives. This is a fascinating, well-written book that will be enjoyed by anyone interested in the history of women in America.; 8vo; FSA.
