First US edition (first printing) of the author's second novel, printed at The Shakespeare Head Press in an edition of 775 copies, 225 of which were reserved for the UK market. 8vo. 185pp. Cloth-backed patterned paper boards lettered in gold at the spine. Edges rough-trimmed. Faint trace of partially erased former owner markings to the front free endpaper and a tiny indentation to the extreme lower margin of the first fifteen or so leaves. Binding just a little tender in places, but a lovely bright copy of a handsome production, housed in the uncommon dust wrapper, non-price-clipped but somewhat tanned, dust marked and chipped at extremities with some loss from the head and base of the spine panel and a few tiny additional fractions of loss to the corner tips.
