Original laminated boards, 4to. A Near Fine set. This sale, which will never be equaled, included 1,384 lots: 234 in Part I, nos. 235-883 in Vol. II, and nos. 884-1384 in Part III. The highest price realized was $1.5 million for the hand-colored, dedication copy of Andreas Vesalius's De humani corporis fabrica (1543), and the sale included countless other special copies of many of the most important books in the history of science and medicine.
