Blue cloth boards with gilt titles and illustration to upper cover, gilt signature facsimile to lower cover, and ribbon marker (green). No jacket issued with this special gift edition. This copy shows a little sun-fading to the rear board and a small mark to the front, light rubbing to corners and spine ends. Pages lightly toned at edges but text block remains clean and tight throughout. A solid copy of this increasingly sought-after first issue of the clothbound gift edition.

Store description
I am currently in the process of clearing out my parents’ house and sadly do not have the space to keep their much-loved book collection. Over the years they gathered an eclectic library, including both general reading and specialist titles, some of which are now quite collectible. This collection includes a mixture of fiction, non-fiction, and specialist interest books (such as golf, history, and children’s literature). A few are valuable first editions, while others are simply well-loved reading copies that deserve a good new home. I am not a professional bookseller, just someone who would like to see these books enjoyed and appreciated by others. Each book is described honestly, with any faults clearly noted, and photographs provided wherever possible so you can buy with confidence. All orders are packaged carefully to ensure safe delivery, and I use tracked shipping where practical. If you have any questions about a particular title, need additional photographs, or would like clarification on condition, please feel free to get in touch, I’ll be happy to help. This sale is, in part, about making space, but also about finding the right readers and collectors for these books. It means a lot to know that the collection will continue to be valued by people who share the same love of books…
