Collection of 20 epic tales & legends gathered from mythology, classic literature, poetry, & fairy tales. In 196 pages, with black-and-white illustrations throughout & DJ illustration by Raymond Briggs. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing from 1964, this hardcover has mottled maroon-cloth-covered boards with silver lettering to spine. NO writing/highlighting/underlining; NOT ex-lib. Very clean & white pages, binding tight & square. Condition downgraded to only Good due to dampstaining to inside back cover which has left some of the last pages wrinkly-warped at bottom & red dye stain inside back covers. Slight foxing/soiling inside front covers. DJ (unclipped, with original British price of 25s net on bottom front flap) shows same dampstaining to back cover/flap & lower front cover near flap. Soiling to white areas (heavier on back), & minor edgewear all around. Colors bright. Nicely protected in new mylar cover free! Photos show the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have on hand.
