In 196 pages, with black-and-white illustrations throughout & DJ illustration by Raymond Briggs. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing from 1964, this hardcover has mottled maroon-cloth-covered boards with silver lettering to spine. NO writing/highlighting/underlining; NOT ex-lib. Very clean & white pages, binding tight & square. Condition downgraded to only Good due to dampstaining to inside back cover which has left some of the last pages wrinkly-warped at bottom & red dye stain inside back covers. Slight foxing/soiling inside front covers. DJ (unclipped, with original British price of 25s net on bottom front flap) shows same dampstaining to back cover/flap & lower front cover near flap. Soiling to white areas (heavier on back), & minor edgewear all around. Colors bright. Nicely protected in new mylar cover free!
