Covers rubbed, sunned, light soiling, light wear to corners, spine sunned and tips frayed, rear inner hinge cracked, contents have scattered light foxing and soiling, some toning, small bit of staining in margins, free rear endpaper has short tear, panoramic map has scattered light foxing and soiling, a few edge tears, approx 1.5" fold tear near image of Quebec City else good/very good. Lots of nice engravings such as "Batiste an Indian plot," Caughnawaga Village, Canadian Habitants, Fort Niagara, Gallop's Rapids. In the preface the author stated he wanted ". . . To supply what has long appeared a desideratum to the tourist who visits Niagara and the St. Lawrence -- a Panoramic or Picture Map of all the most celebrated and picturesque points along this noble river." The map is informative and charmingly illustrated. FIRST EDITION.
