BOOK DESCRIPTION: 3 volumes in slipcase and dust jackets. Each volume is tall 8vo, 1694 pgs, portraits, maps, trade edition in slipcase. CONDITION DESCRIPTION: Each volume is near fine; interiors are clean and tight. Unclipped DJs are sunned and darkened on spines, else near fine; now in mylar sleeves. CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: Result of 20 years research in the HBC archives, Rich distributes both blame and praise where needed. Covers the HBC from the granting of the Charter to the Deed of Surrender. Places the history of the the HBC in its world setting. He only provides light coverage to the Russian and maritime fur trade. This is the best history of the HBC, and from others regularly draw, combining the archives of HBC and other documents in museums, national libraries and private collections. Originally published in two volumes by the Hudson's Bay Record Society, this is the first trade edition of the same. NOTE: Additional postage required for international shipping.
