Black cloth; spine's gilt stamping a bit dulled/flaked but still easily legible; front board's gitl stamping remains bright. SMall stain to center fore-edge with several leaves shallwo affected at margins. Toned endpapers; Wharton-related newspaper clippings affixed to front pastedown, ffep verso, and on rear endpapers; past owner's ink inscirption on front free endpaper recto with Boston, Massachusetts bookseller ticket for Old Corner Book Store affixed at bottom left; small stub at gutter heel evidences removed frontispiece.
