First Printing. Octavo (19.25cm); red cloth, with titling and pictorial elements stamped in black and dark brown on spine and front cover; [8],9-346,[4]pp ads; with four illustrated plates by J.A. Lemon. Light wear to extremities, hint of sunning to spine, with some faint, scattered foxing to upper edge of textblock, and minute loss to upper corners on pp.53-56; Very Good+. Provenance: From the collection of Spectrum of Fantasy author George Locke. Lost-race adventure novel by this disciple of H. Rider Haggard, set on a hidden Caribbean island ruled by Voodoo. The castaways eventually escape to the United States, and the novel concludes with a volcano beneath the island blowing it to pieces. Locke (A Spectrum of Fantasy, Vol.1), p.108; Smith H-427.
