Published in 1940, this is the First Edition of this uncommon booklet, being a photographic record of the World War Two military operation at Dunkirk, Operation Dynamo, the evacuation from Dunkirk, which involved the rescue of more than 338,000 British and French soldiers from the French port of Dunkirk between 26 May and 4 June 1940. The evacuation, sometimes referred to as the Miracle of Dunkirk, was a big boost for British morale. The booklet is 8 inches tall approx., well illustrated with forty six photographs. The covers have some marking with noticeable writing covering the whole of the back cover including a note about the blackout. Also writing to inside back cover. Some creasing wear to page corners, the centre page has come loose from the staples, else in good general condition.
