Red Boards. Condition: Good Plus. 1st Edition. Type: Z 347pp. A scarce first edition, rebound in library cloth and new end papers, with only one ink ex-library stamp in the main body of the work. There is also an ex-library bookplate to the front paste down and numbers to the head of the front end paper and numbers with stamp to the reverse of the title page. Withdrawn stamps to the front end paper and reverse of the title page. Gilt embossed lettering to the title block on the spine strip and gilt embossed ex-library number to the tail of the spine. Illustrated with 8 full page b/w plates and numeorus maps as called for. Includes a large fold out 'general map' to the rear - well preserved though with a few extra creases. One corner is bumped and the other three corners are slightly rounded. Slight soiling to the boards. Light crease to the corners of the rear end paper and adjacent blank page.
