Very good unaltered condition, full original calf bindings with decorative panels, light to moderate wear, six raised bands across spine with gilt decorative rules, cracking to front hinges but covers secure and bindings tight, book plate of later owner on front end papers, frontis piece portrait of Clarendon and engraved decorative title page, engraved headings, initials and footers for each book. Volume One contains books one to five and preface xxiii plus 557 pages, faint toning to all leaves of the first half remainder bright; Volume Two lacks volume label, contains books six to nine and dedication to the Queen (Anne), 10 unpaginated plus 581 pages, minor instance of worm affecting upper fore margin of pages 5 to 52 not affecting the text, rear end pages pasted together, text bright and clean; Volume Three, lacks title and volume labels from spine, contains books ten to sixteen, dedication and index to all volumes, 23 unpaginated plus 603 pages and 21 unpaginated.
