Quarto: 105, [1, blank] pp. with a frontispiece and 7 full-page plates, all wood engravings by Chamberlin, et al., after illustrations or photographs, as well as a full-page map. In the publisher's red diagonal fine-ribbed cloth binding, with beveled boards; gilt-stamped ruled and scalloped borders with black-stamped infill; gilt-stamped floral ornamental and interlocking strapwork frame, with black-stamped infill; gilt-stamped vignette of the church, with black-stamped background; gilt-stamped uncial titling on the front panel; and gilt-stamped ruled and floral ornamental head and tail bands and floral ornaments on the spine. All edges gilt, with light blue coated endpapers. Very fine. Provenance: from the Publishers' Bookbindings collection of Ellen K. Morris and Edward S. Levin.
