Thick 4to all leather embossed hardcover volumes. Lovely embossing front and back. Spines and covers not split or cracked but have some rubbing that could be polished up to look quite nice. We saw no other bindings this nice. All edges gilt. End papers are split on joints and some moron inked in a old price in both volumes. The yellowish endpaers show some soiling from the type of paper. Contents of both are quite clean with no foxing or stains and no loose pages. Not dated but seems to be the first english version. 648 and 664 +2 pages. Volume 2 has a glossary to the rear.
