Beriah Higham, founder& proprietor of the town's admired, influential newspaper, The Wellmouth Eagle, has just died, and left both the newspaper & print shop to his nephew Franklin Cobb of Cleveland. Judge Joel Dean & the good Captain Gideon Bates, were both intimate friends of the deceased, with full knowledge that Elisha Dobson, engaged by Higham 20 years ago as an errand boy, had been running the show for sometime.
