After the devastating earthquake in 2010, the eyes of the world were on Haiti and its plight as the poorest country in the Western hemisphere. Moved with compassion, many individuals and organizations made donations and promises to “build back better.” Over a decade later, these promises have not materialized. Why does Haiti remain poor and underdeveloped despite receiving large amounts of foreign aid? In this book, you will find:
- Inspiring stories of success
- An eye-opening look into the world of humanitarian aid in Haiti
- Empirical research about foreign aid in Haiti
- How you can help transform Haiti in one generation
