128 pages. Illustrations. A Note on Sources. Notes by Chapter. Further Reading. Index. Name of previous owner present. One of the Issues in Focus series. Presents pros and cons regarding gun control, discussing such aspects as the history of gun ownership and access to guns in America. Gun control (or firearms regulation) is the set of laws or policies that regulate the manufacture, sale, transfer, possession, modification, or use of firearms by civilians. Most countries have a restrictive firearm guiding policy, with only a few legislations being categorized as permissive. Jurisdictions that regulate access to firearms typically restrict access to only certain categories of firearms and then to restrict the categories of persons who will be granted a firearms license to have access to a firearm. David E. Newton is the author of more than 400 textbooks, encyclopedias, resource books, research manuals, and other educational materials. He taught in Grand Rapids, Michigan, for 13 years.
