Item description from seller

8.25 by 10.75 inches. x, 355, [5] pages. Decorative front cover. Foreword by Theodore P. Savas. The previous owner's [Thomas Corbin] bookplate inside the cover. (Thomas Corbin was the great grandson of Private Elbert Corbin--who served in the First New York Light Artillery and participated in the Battle of Gettysburg) This is described as the Complete Index to Popular Civil War magazines. This is a massive compilation of over 30,000 cross-referenced listings gleaned from different publications. Included are the general periodicals that one would expect to see in such an index, such as Blue & Grey Magazine [Volume I-VII, August 1983 through December 1990], America's Civil War [Volume I, II, III (part) May 1988 to November 1990], and Civil War, the Magazine of the Civil War Society [Issue I through XXVI]. Also included are comprehensive entries from Gettysburg Magazine [Issue 1, 2, and 3] and Morningside Notes [through 1990]. Included are details from every article published in Military History Magazine [August 1984 through December 1990]dealing with a Civil War-related topic and an additional two more years of Civil War Times, Illustrated, comprising those issues published since the appearance of Merideth's index of that magazine (and its predecessor [Volume 28 and 29, March 1989 to December 1990]). This is a data-rich book that will become a bibliophile's companion. Included in the Guide are four chapters (1) a list of articles, by author; (2) a list of book reviews, by author; (3) a list of book reviews, by title; and (4) a numerical list of all articles by title, keyed to the subject index. A section titled "How To Use This Index" provides information on utilizing this book to its full potential. This should be viewed as a stand-alone publication, as Volume II was published in 1997 and included information from additional periodicals. Presumed First Edition, First printing thus.…
