Item description from seller

1931. First edition. viii, 107pp. and 8 black and white plates (including the frontispiece). The depredations of the grey squirrel are a source of concern to the farming and fruit-growing interests in many districts. This book deals with the introduction and spread of this pest in the British Isles, and with its habits, food, and relations with the natural fauna of the country. The book is bound in the original light blueish-white canvas cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine. The book is in excellent condition and the contents are tight and clean with no inscription. The clipped dustwrapper is very good with some shelf wear and light soiling and the spine is slightly browned. The spine ends are lightly bumped and nicked with tears of about 1/4" on the top front and rear spine corners. There is a tear of about 3/8" on the top rear edge.
