First printing Very good+ in blue cloth covered boards with light soiling and spots of foxing to the upper edge of the text block and minor foxing to the hinge areas. A small octavo measuring 8 by 5 1/4 inches with map end sheets. In a good, unclipped dust jacket with 1/4 and 1/2 inch deep chips at the ends of the spine area and rubbing and wear to the panels. If one enjoyed The Perfect Storm this is a must! The author narrates the 15 year history of a Deep-Sea salvage tug, the Foundation Franklin, off the coast of Newfoundland and Nova Scotia saving hundreds of ships from the perilous seas and treacherous coasts. Illustrated with a frontispiece and a line drawings of the Foundation Franklin. This is the very uncommon first Canadian edition with no prior ownership markings of any kind.
