Howard Books 2008 A D V A N C E R E A D E R' S Edition Fine/ SOFTCOVER. Prerelease version. Glossy white pictorial wraps. Product DescriptionJonathan Falwell carries on the legacy of his father -- the internationally renowned founder of Thomas Road Baptist Church, Jerry Falwell -- by reminding believers of the single most important truth for their spiritual walk through life. Regardless of the trials and suffering Christians face, there remains one simple, underlying, foundational truth that enables them to have the strength to carry on and find purpose in their lives, no matter the situation. Everyone is searching for significance, trying to find ways to make a difference in the world while undergoing all sorts of tribulations that seem to bring nothing but disappointment. There are innumerable plans for success and ways to overcome adversity, but people are quickly learning that all of these efforts prove futile. The real secret and one great truth in discovering meaning in life is for readers to keep their focus on Christ, and this is the principle that Jonathan Falwell teaches with affirmation and authority. Readers will learn how all of life's mysteries can be unraveled when everything they do centers on Christ. The Bible provides the hope readers need to forge ahead in the face of constant challenges and setbacks. With God, all things are possible, and only in Him can readers find the strength and ability they need to succeed in ways that truly matter. About the AuthorJonathan Falwell preaches at Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia. He served there under the leader of his father and founding pastor, Dr. Jerry Falwell, from 1995 until his father's death in May 2007. Before Jonathan joined the church staff, he was involved in numerous business ventures, including in 1990 starting one of Virginia's largest video and film production companies, which still thrives today. He is an accomplished photographer whose work has appeared in Time magazine, Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report, the Washington Post, and other national and international periodicals. He is the executive vice president of spiritual affairs at Liberty University, the world's largest evangelical Christian university (with more than thirty-seven thousand students), where he oversees all spiritual aspects of the university through the campus pastor's office. Jonathan Falwell earned his bachelor of science degree from Liberty University in 1987, his master of arts in religion from the Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in 1996, and his law degree (Juris Doctor) in 2005 from William Howard Taft University in Santa Ana, California. He and his wife, Shari, have four children: Jonathan Jr., Jessica, Natalie, and Nicholas. They reside in Lynchburg, Virginia.…

Above all else, it seems as if people are always looking to be significant. They are trying to determine what it will take to make a difference, to be a leader. In the midst of this challenge, people also face the trials and tribulations of life that seem to bring great discouragement. While many look to various sources for the answer of how to succeed and how to make it through their problems, the only answer that can actually bring success is found within the words of the Bible. The one great truth is that our focus must be on Christ. When everything we do revolves around serving Him, we find the great answers to all of life’s mysteries. Within the Bible we find the hope we need to forge ahead, despite life’s challenges and disappointments. The one great truth is that with God, all things are possible, and He will give us the strength and abilities we need to succeed.
