Original green cloth hard covers, with titling to front. iv,165pp. The register inside the front cover is stamped in red no. 22003, and bears the name of L. C. Furness [?] Wabash [Railroad Company] St. Thomas [Ontario]. Issued under the authority of company president Chas. M. Hayes (facsimile signature), who had been head of the WRC, and died the following year on the Titanic. In 1897, the Wabash leased the eastern lines of the former Great Western Railway between Windsor and Buffalo, which had been amalgamated with the Grand Trunk in 1882 [source: St. Thomas Public Library]. Moderate handling wear and soiling to covers; edges moderately soiled and endpapers a little toned. Otherwise clean, tight and unmarked. Very neat -- a sound and handsome little copy.
