Item description from seller

1936. viii, 275pp. B&W images. "Two great statesmen dominated England between the Great Exhibition and the Diamond Jubilee -- William Ewart Gladstone and Benjamin Disraeli. The glitter of Disraeli has captured contemporary biography, the stage, and the screen; Gladstone's profounder genius has still to be interpreted to the world of King Edward VIII. This book seeks to redress the balance". Dust jacket is lightly soiled to spine and back panel. Top and bottom of spine and corners have a little loss with small closed tear to bottom of front panel. Book has very slight wear to bottom of spine and corners; mild foxing to edges. Overall in vg condition.
