Some edge wear to top and bottom of jacket and spine, corners slightly rubbed, some spotting to page fore edges, some slight time staining to back jacket, slight lean. not price clipped (12s 6d), no inscriptions, internally tight and clean, overall a vg+ copy for its age. 223pp. David Unwin's (1918-2010), first novel for adults is set in an imaginary British protectorate and an adjoining republic. Though Bandaland and Equatoria will not be found on the map, they are no Erewhons invented by the author. It is the story of conflict between the native peoples and a financial trust that wishes to build an irrigation project.
