She was the 1938 US Amateur and 1946 US Open Champion with 83 lifetime tournament wins, and a founding influence/member as well as the first president of the LPGA. THIS COPY THE FORMER PROPERTY OF HECTOR THOMSON, 1936 AMATEUR CHAMPION, HIS SIGNATURE ON UPPER FFEP. Thomson was a popular winner, the first time a Scot won the Amateur at St. Andrews in many years.
