Item description from seller

First Edition. Hardcover. 9 1/2" X 6 1/2". ix, 576pp. Book presents nicely with unclipped dust jacket wrapped in protective archival sleeve. Very mild rubbing and shelf wear to covers, corners, and edges of jacket. Small crease to inside rear flap. Bound in black cloth over boards with spine lettered in gilt. Pages are clean and unmarked. Binding is firm and sound. ABOUT THIS BOOK: Can philosophy offer reasonable grounds for the existence of a God as the center of actual faith, rather than just a theoretical Absolute? Timothy Sprigge offers a fascinating exploration of the metaphysical systems of a diverse range of philosophers, from Spinoza and Hegel to T. H. Green and Josiah Royce, testing objections to what might be called "metaphysical religion" against the systems of these distinguished thinkers. In the process, Sprigge offers a compelling new defense of a highly unfashionable Idealist worldview.(Publisher).

Megan, an English student at the University of West Georgia, walked in, fell down the rabbit hole, and never left! Reader, we married in May of 2014, under the book arch that now resides at the bookshop.
