Bound in the publisher's cloth with the original dust wrapper and an extra dust wrapper included.Written by Scottish poet, historian and travel writer, Eric Linklater. 'God Likes them Plain' is Linklater's first collection of short stories, comprised of sixteen tales of various genres, from humour to fantasy. Some of these stories are set in the author's native Orkney, while others recall experiences of time spent in America and India. With the pictorial bookplate of Frederick S. Warner. Bound in the publisher's cloth with two original dust wrappers. Externally, excellent, with light bumping to the extremities and the odd mark to cloth. Scattered spotting to the fore edge. Dust wrapper is very good, with light edge wear and the odd mark. Light soiling, with some sunning to the spine, moreso to the outer wrap. A small clip to each flyleaf. Internally, firmly bound, with bright, clean pages. Very Good Indeed.
