First edition, first printing of Tennessee Williams' so-called 'memory play.' There is a reference to its performance on Broadway (31 March 1945) and the frontispiece may well be a photograph of a scene from that production. Three other b/w whole-page photos follow within the subsequent text (images). Turquoise cloth boards with titles along the spine - see main image (slight bending at the corners). Internally, the pages are tanned although it is possible that this reflects the type of paper used as much as age-related deterioration. Uncut pages. pp.xii, 124/12mo. Includes the author's Production Notes and a one page summary of The Characters (image).
