Item description from seller

Please Note: The book in the pics is the book the Buyer will receive. Near Antique Book, Ginger Rogers And The Riddle Of The Scarlet Cloak, by Lela E. Rogers, Authorized Edition, First Edition, copyright 1942 Hardcover, Dust Jacket, Published by Whitman Publishing Company, 248 pages, Illustrated by Henry E. Vallely The book is in Very Good Used Condition (VGUC) with signs of previous ownership and use. The book is square with nearly sharp corners, and the binding is solid and tight with no loose or missing pages. There are some stray marks in a couple of places (which could have been left when the book was printed), but no pen or pencil marks were observed anywhere in the book. The pages and dustjacket have browned/tanned, and the pages are somewhat brittle. There is chipping on some pages, on the dust jacket and on the book itself, particularly at the top of the spine. The illustrated endpapers have split along the spine, completely in the front and a little in the back, but the pages are still fully attached. Ginger Rogers' mother, Lela, wrote this young adult mystery novel featuring her daughter as the heroine. The novel cast the real-life movie star as a fictionalized hotel switchboard operator who solves crimes. When her friend's father is accused of stealing a valuable painting, Ginger sets out to clear his name and find the real culprit. Along the way, she must use her wits and cunning to solve a series of clues and puzzles, leading her to the mysterious Scarlet Cloak. With the help of her friends and family, Ginger navigates the dangerous world of art theft and deception, ultimately uncovering the truth behind the theft and saving the day. First come, first served. Cross posted. Smoke-free, pet-free home. Shipped in a box to protect the book as best as possible. Tracking provided. Thanks for looking.
