Hardback bound in green cloth-covered boards with gilt titles. Book has light edge wear, a small bump at lower spine and former owner's name inside front cover. The interior is clean and unmarked. Dust jacket has been laminated, but shows edge wear and a chip missing at mid-spine. Book tells stories of the real men who made the west. With the exception of Alamo, each chapter is the story of an individual - Stephen Austin, Sam Houston, David Crockett, Brigham Young, Charles Goodnight, John Sutter and Alexander Majors.
